Blue Light: Myths & Facts!

What is blue light?

Blue light is part of visible light. It’s energetic. The Sun is the biggest source of it.
And guess what? We NEED it during the day.
We’re basically solar-powered houseplants with emotions.
Inadequate sunlight makes us grumpy, sleepy, distracted zombies.

So what’s the drama with blue light?
After sunset, your brain wants to chill and make melatonin—your natural “go to sleep” juice.
But if you’re bathing in screen light after dark, melatonin says: “No, I’m out.”
Result? You’re up at 2 a.m. with your eyeballs feeling like dried raisins in a desert.

Digital Eye Strain is real.

Your eyes aren’t designed to stare at bright rectangles 18 hours a day.
They get dry. Tired.
Give them a break, blink more.

Does blue light damage your eyes?

No.
There’s no scientific proof that it’s causing long-term harm.
BUT—do yourself a favour:

  • Limit screen time
  • Turn on Night Mode on the gadgets after sunset.

Bonus fact:
Your skin, the largest organ in the body can sense light too.
And the tiny pineal gland, the smallest organ in the body – That’s the melatonin DJ. Don’t mess with its vibe.

Pro tips:
Swap screens for soft music, chill lighting, and maybe some light stretching. Your brain will thank you.

Blue light won’t blind you.
But doom scrolling till 2 a.m. might feel like it did. Take care of your eyes.
They’re the only ones you’ve got!
